The SMD Solution
Strain Measurement Devices designed a custom p940 force sensor, welded, in-house, to a vacuum reference cavity. The P940 sensor has a stainless-steel wetted surface with a proprietary sputtered thin-film, full-bridge strain gauge circuit. The sputtered metal strain gauge circuit offers superior long term stability and a high temperature capability. A unique lead out pad design provides ease of soldering and rugged construction, and a 10 Kohm bridge offers low power consumption. SMD was chosen because of our experience in aerospace technologies.
